Baptism FAQs

It represents Jesus Christ’s death and RESURRECTION. "Christ died for our sins... He was buried...And He was raised on the third day." – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with Him, you were raised to a new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead." – Colossians 2:12

ANYONE who is a believer in Jesus Christ."Those who accepted His message were baptized." – Acts 2:41

To follow the example set by JESUS CHRIST. "At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan." – Mark 1:9 Because Christ COMMANDS it. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." – Matthew 28:19-20

As soon as you have believed! There is no reason to delay. As soon as you receive Christ into your life, you can -- and should be – baptized. You can be a Christian without being baptized, but you can’t be an obedient Christian without following the Lord in believer’s baptism.

Because JESUS was baptized that way "As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water." – Matthew 3:16 Every baptism in the BIBLE was by immersion. The Greek word “baptize” means, “to immerse or dip underwater.” It best represents the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
