Going All In

Jesus didn’t hold anything back. He gave His very life so that we could live forever with Him. The cross wasn’t halfway obedience—it was total surrender. And because Jesus went “all in” for us, He invites us to do the same for Him.
The Rich Young Ruler in Luke 18 thought he had done everything right. He obeyed the commandments and lived a moral life. But when Jesus asked him to surrender what he loved most—his wealth—he walked away sad. His hands were too full of earthly treasure to take hold of eternal life. Jesus wasn’t condemning possessions; He was exposing the heart. Anything that comes before Christ—status, comfort, career, even good things—becomes an obstacle to wholehearted devotion.
1 John 2:15 reminds us not to love the world or the things of it, because they can never satisfy the soul. And Mark 8:36 drives the point home: “What good is it to gain the whole world, yet forfeit your soul?” The truth is, our time here is shorter than we think. Every day is a chance to live with eternity in view—to love deeply, to serve generously, and to pursue Christ above all else.
Going “all in” doesn’t mean perfection; it means surrender. It means choosing Jesus when it costs you something. It means exchanging lukewarm faith for a blazing devotion. Today, ask yourself: What’s holding me back? Whatever it is, it’s not worth missing out on the joy of following Jesus with your whole heart.
Prayer:
Lord, You gave everything for me. Help me hold nothing back from You. Teach me to live fully surrendered, loving You more than anything else this world offers. Amen.
