Leaving A Legacy of Faith

"We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and His might, and the wonders that He has done." -Psalm 78:4
Not everyone grows up in a home where faith is taught. I know this firsthand. My parents didn’t instill faith values in me, but God, in His grace, placed someone in my life who did—my aunt and uncle. They took the time to take me to church, share God’s truth, pray for me, and show me what it meant to walk with Him. Their influence shaped my faith in ways I will forever be grateful for.
Every generation faces its own challenges, but one thing remains unchanged—our call to pass down the truth of God’s Word. The faith we live out today is not just for us; it’s a legacy we are building for those who come after us.
Reaching the next generation doesn’t require a title of “parent” or “teacher.” It simply requires a heart willing to invest in someone else. God’s design has always been for faith to be shared, taught, and demonstrated in daily life (Deuteronomy 6:6-7). Whether we are parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, mentors, or friends, we can point someone toward Christ.
Who in your life needs encouragement today? A child, a niece or nephew, a young person at church? Pray for them, invest in them, and remind them of the God who sees, loves, and calls them by name.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for those who step in and share faith when it isn't passed down in a family. Help me to be that person for someone else. Give me wisdom to guide the next generation in faith, identity, and purpose. Amen.
