When Mercy Found Me

When Mercy Found Me

He grew up surrounded by broken promises, addiction, hurt and insecurity. By the time he was a teenager he was running with the wrong crowd. Drugs had become his escape. He thought his life was beyond repair — too far gone for God to care.

Then his Mom urged him to attend Celebrate Recovery. At first, he didn’t trust it. But desperation has a way of opening doors. In those meetings, he found honesty, acceptance, and people who had walked through the same darkness he knew so well. For the first time, he wasn’t alone.

Celebrate Recovery taught him how to face his hurts, habits, and hang-ups through the power of Jesus Christ. The steps felt overwhelming at first, but the leaders and sponsors stood by him, pointing him to God’s truth and showing him how to break free from the chains of his past.

Slowly, the walls around his heart came down. Jesus met him there in the middle of his pain and began to heal what seemed unfixable.

Today, he is a vital part of our church family and serves through Celebrate Recovery, helping others find the same freedom he discovered. He reminds people that recovery is possible, that God can transform even the messiest life into a story of hope.

If you think God can’t use you, look again. Through Celebrate Recovery, God restores what was lost and makes all things new. Jesus changes people from the inside out — and that change is worth everything.
