Why The Resurrection Still Matters

Why The Resurrection Still Matters

"He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying." —Matthew 28:6 (NLT)

Easter might come once a year, but the resurrection of Jesus? That changes everything—every day.

When Jesus walked out of that tomb, He didn’t just prove He was who He said He was. He changed the story for all of us. His victory over death means that no matter how broken, messed up, or hopeless things might look, God isn’t done. There’s always a chance for new life, a fresh start, and something better ahead.

Because Jesus rose from the dead, we can face today—and every day—with hope. We don’t have to carry the weight of our past or be defined by our struggles. The same power that brought Jesus back to life is available to us through the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11). That means strength when we’re weak, peace when life is crazy, and courage when we’re afraid.

And here’s the best part: this hope isn’t just for us to keep to ourselves. The resurrection calls us to live differently—to love deeper, serve others, and point people to the One who brings dead things back to life.

So today, when life feels heavy or uncertain, remember the empty tomb. Jesus is alive. And because He lives, there’s always hope.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for rising from the dead and giving me hope that never runs out. When life feels overwhelming, remind me that You’ve already won. Help me to live like someone who’s been given a second chance—full of joy, peace, and purpose. Use my life to show others just how real and powerful Your love is. Amen.
